This years National Day was a very special day. How many times in the history of the mankind can you see 2 kings at the same time? I am posting some pictures to remind ourselves how fortunate we are to be able to witness such an occasion.
17th December, 2007 - a glorious day for a great occasion. The soldiers entering the celebration ground to offer the Guard of Honour.

Thousands attended the celebrations of the National Day.
It was an emotional event to see His Majesty the 4th Druk Gyalpo and His Majesty the 5th Druk Gyalpo together.

The celebration was truly an emotional one. I saw some people shedding tears when His Majesty the fifth Druk Gyelpo visited our side of the ground.
I think every Bhutanese felt proud of the kings yesterday. It was good to see that many people both old and young turned up to pay their respects to the Monarchs and I am proud to be one of them.
The only downside of 100 Years celebration yesterday was that the security didn’t allow people to take good shots of the two Druk Gyelpos…such opportunity comes rarely, right?
To sum up, I enjoyed the day and I am sure others did too…AFTER ALL…ITS 100 YEARS CELEBRATION!!!!
Oh! By the way, VAST (Voluntary Artist Studio Thimphu) opened the art exhibition in celebration of 100 years yesterday at 3 PM. The title of the exhibition is “BHUTAN THROUGH 100 YEARS.” VAST has done a GREAT job!!! It will be refreshing if you go and visit the exhibition.
I bet you will have a more entertaining and peaceful hour than the shows at Clock Tower Square.
